Sympathy is extended to the Glennon family of Clonin on the death of Angela who passed away on Monday last and was laid to rest in Rhode on Wednesday. May she Rest In Peace. Sympathy is also extended to the McNamee family of Clonmore on the death of Thomas (Toss) in his 91st year after a short illness. Toss was a man of quite disposition and was a tremendous supporter of all Rhode, Offaly and Clonmore teams. All his life he was a tremendous supporter and would attend all matches without fail. He was a huge supporter of the Offaly 60, 61 team who made the breakthrough on the national scene winning their first Leinster title in 1960, again won the Leinster and reached their never to be forgotten All-Ireland final and he often rendered a song in their praises. Of that team he idolised the great Mick Casey R.I.P and Paddy McCormack. For the past 30 years he has been one of the Vice Presidents of the Rhode GAA Club a position he was very proud of. All at the Club and County have a great friend and supporter. Toss died on Saturday night at 10 o’clock and he was laid to rest on Tuesday. Sincere sympathy is extended to Baralos and Carmel his grandniece and niece who were so good to him over the past 30 years or so.
