R.I.P Fr. Edward Kelly

Fr KellyThere was deep sorrow and sadness in the Rhode parish area when on Sunday morning news filtered through on the death of Fr. Edward Kelly. Fr Kelly was a much loved and admired person in the community sinse he came to Rhode thirty three years ago. A very devoted and hard working priest Fr Kelly came to Rhode after been a missionary priest in South Africa for years. Since arriving in Rhode he was totally emerged in all the activates of the parish and he was part of all religious ceremonies that took place in Rhode. A native of Tullow in Carlow which he was very proud of but since his arrival in Rhode he has been a active follower of all Rhode teams and Offaly teams until later years when ill health hindered him he was seen at all matches. He was one of the vice-presidents of the club and was always present when religious activities were required by the club. We as a club and indeed the whole parish have lost a great friend, servant and spiritual leader. Sympathy is extended to all his immediate family in Carlow and his friends.
