Rhode Minor Club Awards Evening This Friday !!

Rhode GAA Club AGM 2015

The 128th  Rhode GAA Club took place Last Friday night with over 70 members in Attendance.  Chairman Seamus Maguire opened the meeting by welcoming all in attendance. Fr,Greg opened with a payer  which included  all  members  especially those who died during the year.  The minutes of last years Agm were read out and then the Club Constitution  was passed it was down to the various reports where Secretary , Treasurer ,  Chairman and Minor Chairman gave excellent and detailed reports on the year gone.

A brief discussion took place where questions were to the top table and dealt with. Newly Elected PRO  Robert Kellaghan Paid Tribute  to John ” Beezy” Glennon  who had served as P.R.O for 38 years 12 of those he also served as club secretary. Kellaghan pointed out that while John was not going anywhere and was continuing to serve the club his contribution could not go unnoticed. ALL in attendance gave around of applause in appreciation of Johns hard work.

Chairman Seamus Maguire ended the meeting .

 

Rod Og Minor Club Awards Night

Rhode Minor club  Underage awards night for all Our Underage Teams will take place on Friday  the 11th December at 6pm in Rhode GAA Hall . It promises to be a great a great evening to celebrate all their hard work during the year.

First Annual St. Stephens Day Charity Match.
Rhode Senior Football Team are proud to be hosting a Charity Fun Game in aid of Dochas Offaly Cancer Support Group Tullamore .

The Present day Rhode senior team will play the 1998 winning championship/over 40s team in Fr.Dowling Park at 12 midday St. Stephens Day .

Donations can be made for this worthy cause on the day.

ALL Support on the Day will be very much appreciated and we hope players and supporters alike can get behind this worthy cause
Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 30th of November for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 9 13 27 28.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €100 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!

Get well

Get well wishes are extended to all of the people of the parish who are ill or hospitalised at the moment especially Club Chairman Seamus Maguire who underwent a minor operation last weekend. All in Rhode GAA wish him a very speedy Recovery.

Sympathy
Sympathy is extended to the Dunne family of Ballyheashill and to the Montgomery family on the death of George Montgomery who was buried Friday last in St, Mary’s Cemetery Edenderry. The deceased was a brother of Mrs Sally Dunne Ballyheashill.
Sympathy is also extended to the Gavin family Rhode on the death of Cecil Ross whose remains were interred in Sonna cemetery . The deceased was the brother of Mrs Miriam Gavin ( Rhode choir director) .
