Strictly Launch Night A Big Success

Strictly Come Dancing

On Sunday Night  the Launch of Our Strictly Come Dancing took place in Killeens Lounge with a massive crowd in attendance.  The Dancers gave a fantastic display of their dance moves to great applause giving us a taster of what is ahead on the Big Night in May. The dancers were then paired of into couples  which added to the intrigue of the  night.  Joe Malone on behalf of the Strictly committee  thanked everyone for attending giving special mention to the dancers and their teacher Lizzie Conroy.

Raffle also  took place on the night .

Rhode GAA would like to sincerely thank Colm Killeen and his staff for hosting a great night , DJ, Local press and our own Photographer Eugene Mcdermott  for the great music, and those who sponsored the raffle prizes n the night. a big thank you to Our Dancers and their teacher Lizzie Conroy and we look forward to seeing you on the Big Night.

Dont Forget the Big event

“Strictly Come Dancing”  Field development Fundraiser to include installation of fence, ball stops, stand and walking path.  It will take place on the May bank holiday weekend Sunday 1st in the Tullamore Court Hotel.

North  Tier 2 League

Rhode Juniors got a deserved draw last Friday night in Rhode GAA field against Ballyfore .  Rhode were down by 6 points at half time and fought back with chances to win the game,  Full Time Score Rhode 1-08 Ballyfore 1-08.

Minor League

Rhode Minors got off  to a winning start in the league with a 2-9 to 1-7 win over St. Vincent’s. .  Well done to the team on a great performance

Offaly Senior Footballers

Hard luck to Offaly Footballers who were beaten by neighbours Westmeath n Sunday last in Mullingar. .

Full Time score Offaly 0-09 Westmeath  1-09 .

Rhode are well represented with a eight  of our players on the Offaly Panel:

Ken Garry, Niall Darby, Conor McNamee, Brian Darby , Anton Sullivan, Niall McNamee, Ruairi McNamee  and Eoin Rigney.

 

Membership

Membership is now due and can be paid to any of our Membership officers listed  Patricia McManus, Orla Kilmurray,  Mary Hannon, Ger Hynes, Fionnuala Hickey, Seamus Maguire, Jody Kilmurray, James Murphy, John Glennon, Tracey Murphy , Robert Kellaghan  right up to the 31st of March 2016 .

The membership rates are as follows:

Player (including insurance) – €50

Family (2 adults and all children) – €50

Single Adult – €25

Student Player – €20

Juvenile – €20

O.A.P – €5-00

 

Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 21st of March for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 12 16 18 24.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeen’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €100 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!
