County Senior Final:

Hard Luck to Rhode Football team and Management team of Pat Daly, Alan Kellaghan, Sean Egan and the extended backroom team who were defeated by old rivals Edenderry on Sunday last in O’Connor Park Tullamore on a score line of 1-11 to 1-10. Rhode started well with a goal in the first minute but Edenderry recovered and led at the interval by 1-7 to 1-6. Rhode were a point down with eight minutes to go but Edenderry saw off the Rhode Chances to Win their 11th Title. The Rhode team and excellent management have put in great effort and hard work all year and for many years. They defended their title to the last but Edenderry were slightly the best team. The Club are extremely thankful and proud of the Rhode Team and management and have given us great days over the years and hopefully they can come back again next year at the top no doubt they will.
