Under-age Training Back in Full Swing

Ród Óg Underage news

Training for all underage teams resume after the Christmas break  in  Rhode GAA Hall.

Rhode Warriors Saturday 16th January 9.30-10.00am

 U,8s Saturday 16th January 10am

U,10s Thursday 14th January 7-8pm

U,12s Thursday 14th 6-7pm

U,14s Monday 11th January 6.45-8pm

U,16s will resume in coming weeks

Underage Registration evening

The underage registration evening  will take place in early February in Rhode GAA hall.All parents are asked to attend a date will be given shortly.

Offaly Senior Footballers

After Offaly’s first win of the year in the Bord Na Mona O’Byrne Cup this has been followed by two defeats against D.I.T last Wednesday night in Dunganny Co. Meath on a score line of 2.11 to 0-10. It came down to the final game with a chance of qualification against Kildare in O’Connor Park Tullamore  Sunday afternoon last with a missed chance of a goal to win the game Offaly were beaten by two points. Offaly 0-11 Kildare 0-13. 
Rhode are well represented with a 11  of our players currently on the Offaly Panel:
 Ken Garry, Niall Darby, Conor McNamee, Brian Darby and Anton Sullivan, Niall McNamee, Ruairi McNamee , Paul Mcpadden, James Mcpadden, Pauric Sullivan and Eoin Rigney.

Offaly U,21s

Offaly have now their second win in the Hastings cup last Saturday against Wicklow on a score line of 2-13 to 1-07 . 
 Ruairi McNamee is our representative on the Offaly U,21 Team .
Membership

 Membership is now due and can be paid to any of our Membership officers listed  Patricia McManus, Orla Kilmurray,  Mary Hannon, Ger Hynes, Fionnuala Hickey, Seamus Maguire, Jody Kilmurray, James Murphy, John Glennon, Tracey Murphy , Robert Kellaghan  right up to the31st of March 2016.

The membership rates are as follows:

Player (including insurance) – €50

Family (2 adults and all children) – €50

Single Adult – €25

Student Player – €20

Juvenile – €20

Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 29th of December for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 7 13 17 20.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

Get well

Get well wishes are extended to all of the people of the parish who are ill or hospitalised at the moment especially our own Senior Football Kit man Ollie Murphy and  John Rigney father of Rhode footballers Eoin, Mark and David.

Sympathy

 Sympathy is extended to the Farrell family of Sragh  Rhode and to the Condon family of Bagnenalstown Co. Carlow on the  untimely death of Margaret who was buried Wednesday morning last in the cemetery of the assumption Bagnenalstown. The deceased is a sister of  great Club man John Farrell and Tommy Farrell CastleJordon   May She rest in peace.
