Rhode Minor footballers played out a thrilling draw with Na Fianna in the Offaly B Final on Saturday in Cappincur. Rhode looked to be in serious trouble at the interval when they trailed Na Fianna by 0-8 to 0-2. A great fight back by Rhode in the second half with Rhode scoring two goals from Shane Lowery and Ruairi McNamee to earn a draw. The replay has not been fixed yet.
The best of luck to the Rhode Senior team, panel and management in the Leinster Semi-Final against the Kildare champions Moorefield on Sunday in O’Connor Park throw in a 2 o’clock. The team have prepared very well and are wished the best of luck.
Well done to Kilcormac/Killoughey who for the second time in three years have qualified for the Leinster Senior Club hurling Final when they recorded a 1-13 to 1-8 win over Raharney of Westmeath on Sunday in Mullingar. They will now meet either Kilmacud Crokes or Ballyhale Shamrocks in the final on the 7th of December.
Well done also to the Junior hurlers of Clara who qualified for the Leinster Special Junior hurling Final when they recorded a 1-13 to 1-7 win over Kyle of Laois in the semi-final on Sunday in Tubber. The will now meet Wolfe Tones of Longford or St. Patrick’s of Meath in the final.
Well done to the Shamrock’s team who have qualified for the Leinster Junior hurling final when they had a 2-19 to 1-10 win over the Carlow champion Carlow Town on Saturday.
Rhode GAA is currently selling tickets for the GAA National Club Draw. All funds will be retrained by the Club and all prizes are sponsored by Croke Park.
The draw will take place on Friday 22nd February.

The Annual General Meeting of The Rhode GAA Club will take place in Rhode Hall on Friday the 5th of December at 7.30 sharp. Nominations for the various positions have been forwarded to the club secretary and nominations closed on Friday last.
The Offaly GAA County Convention takes place in O’Connor Park on Tuesday the 9th of December at 7pm. The Rhode delegates for the convention will be elected at the clubs AGM.
There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto for the week ending 10th of November for a Jackpot of €15,000. The numbers drawn were 3 6 19 30. The club like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation. The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website. The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on. In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!
Sympathy is extended to the O’Rourke family of Cavemount Daingean on the death of Sean whose remains were interred in Daingean cemetery on Sunday. The deceased was an uncle of Rhode’s P.P Fr. Corcoran.
