Rhode Senior Footballers take on PortLaoise  this Sunday October 29th  in Bord Na Mona O\’Connor Park at  2:30pm .

Rod Og Fun Fundraiser Croghan Hill Challenge

Rod Og are holding a fun fundraiser  to raise money for the up keep of our under-age teams and to further their footballing abilities  this Saturday  October 28th 11:30am . Its a day of fun also enjoy the thrills and spills of the Croghan Hill Challenge  Adults @ €20. Students (over 16)  @ €10  All participants will be entered into a free draw for great prizes. On the Saturday night  there will be live music, raffle and refreshments from 9pm in O\’Toole\’s\’ Lounge Rhode. Rhode Parish Schools Cumann na mBunscol Football A Champions !!

Massive congratulations to the you boys of Rhode Parish Schools who were crowned Cumann na mBunscol Football  A champions for the First time since 2004. Played in a very wet and windy O\’Connor Park did not stop the boys of the parish get down to business and at half time Rhode Parish were 3-3 to Portarlingtons 2-2 up. Rhode came out all guns blazing to finish the game out and collect the coveted cup which is any young lads dream final score Rhode Parish 10-11 Portarlington 4-2. Captain Ross Kellaghan lifted the cup to massive cheers from his team mates and supporters. A massive week for the parish with another cup back following the Seniors win. These young boys are the future and may they have continued success on the playing fields.

A massive well done and congratulations to their Managers Brian Darby, David Brady and Cathal McCarthy.

Rhode GAA Golf Classic

Due to the adverse weather conditions of last weekend  We are now holding our Golf Classic  this Saturday  4th of Novemeber in Highfield Golf Club.

Team of 3 €100 The Format is Three-ball Scramble  with excellent prizes up for grabs.   Refreshments provided by Dempseys Butchers.

Tee Times will carry over.

Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 17th of October for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 15 20 21 22.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeen’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each.

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online through our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example, pay for seven draws, receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

 

Sympathy

Deepest Sympathy to the Bannon Family Rhode on the Sudden Passing of Frank .

Frank  was key member of the 1975 U,21 team that won the championship and was a wonderful Supporter of Rhode teams throughout the years and will  be sadly missed by all who know him especially  his loving wife Ann, son Kevin and daughter Laura. Sadly missed by his extended family, relatives and friends. Franks Funeral mass took place on Wednesday morning last at St.Peters Church Rhode followed by burial to the adjoining Cemetery.

Deepest Sympathy also is extended to the Murrin Family Rhode/Edenderry on the Passing of Eileen Murrin Assumption Road Edenderry. The deceased his Mother of  local man John Murrin Woodville Manor. Eileens Funeral mass took place on Thursday last followed by Burial to St.Marys Cemetery.

May Frank and Eileen  Rest In Peace
