To Celebrate Rhode Senior Footballers Collecting their 28th Senior Football Title and the Offaly Division 1 League, we are delighted to announce the Presentation of Medals will take place on Saturday the 17th of February 2018 in the Bloomfield House Hotel @7:30pm .

Master of ceremonies:
Offaly Hurling Legend and Sunday Game Analyst Michael Duignan. 

Michael adds a bit of class to proceedings with a Sunday Game type interviews with players, management and club representatives.  

We are delighted to announce our special guest for our night of celebration is Monaghan Player Conor McManus

Rhode GAA Transformation

Monday the 12th of February started the 6th and final week of Rhode GAA Transformation  and by now most of us can see and feel the benefits of our efforts it\’s great to see so many at the classes and making use of the walking track in our GAA grounds.   it has been a great journey and we hope that you all got a little something out of it to help you continue in your road to a healthier lifestyle

Monday\’s talk was from footballer  Niall McNamee and Rhode joint Manager Jack Cooney. Niall spoke about health and well-being  and the importance of having a healthy mind healthy body.

Jack\’s background is Sports performance and enhancement he gave us some practical tips and advice on the best way forward after the programme comes to an end. 

Monday 19th will be the final weigh in.

St. Patrick\’s Day Parade

We are currently planning our 2nd Annual St. Patrick\’s Parade which will take on St. Patrick\’s Day leaving from Fr. Dowling park,  last year\’s parade was fantastic and this year\’s is promising to be an even better one with a visit from RTE organised. We are looking for businesses , clubs and organisations to submit a float for the parade as we would love to make this year\’s event even more colourful and creative than last years please put your thinking caps on and get involved. Division 1 League

Rhode Seniors take on Edenderry in Edenderry on Saturday 17th of February at 3;30pm.

 

Leinster GAA Cross County League:

Rhode U,13s travelled to Dublin on Sunday morning last where they lost out to St.Pat\’s of Donaghmeade on a score-line of 6-9 to 3-09.

Rhode U.13s  will play St. Colmcille\’s  of Meath on Saturday 24th of February in Fr.Dowling Park Rhode.

Membership is now due and can be paid to the following membership officers listed, Patricia McManus, Orla Kilmurray, Ger Noonan, Ger Hynes, Pat FitzGerald, Joe Malone, Oliver Murphy, Jody Kilmurray, James Murphy , John Glennon ,Tracey Murphy , Robert Kellaghan and Mary Hannon  up to the 1st of March 2018.

The Membership Rates are as Follows:

Player ( including Insurance)- €75

Family (2 adults and all Children)-  €75

Single Adult- €30

Student /student player -€20

Juvenile -€20

O.A.P,s – €5

 

2018 Ròd Bord na nÒg teams registration evening.

Our registration evening will take place Friday  16th February in Rhode Hall  at 7.00pm all players from Rhode Warriors to U16\’s are asked to attend.

All age grades are asked to attend as we need to update player information and it is essential for insurance purposes. Players from neighboring clubs Croghan and Clonmore are asked to attend also but to register with their home club first and just provide contact information to Rod Òg no contribution is required . Leinster Champion !!

Massive Congratulations to David Hope who was crowned Leinster champion on Saturday evening last defeating Daniel Kavanagh of Wexford in the 40×20  Leinster Intermediate Final.

Massive Congratulations to our Club Chairman Joe Malone and Sarah McNamee on their engagement in Paris last Monday. Sarah and Joe celebrated with family and friends on Friday night last in Doyle\’s. A great night was had by all.

 

Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 5th of February for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 18 24 27 28.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Dolye’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each.

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online through our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example, pay for seven draws, receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!
