St Michael\’s the Rhode Under 21 team qualified for their third Under 21 final in a row when they recorded a 2-10 to 0-7 win over St Manchain\’s in Mucklagh on Saturday.  Goals in the either half from Donal Hickey and Ruairi McNamee sealed the victory but a serious of missed chances in both halves leaves plenty of room for improvement in the final.  St Michael\’s led at the interval by 1-5 to 0-3.  They will now meet either St Patrick\’s (Edenderry) or Clara in the final.  The team was

Division 1 League Final Rhode v Clara in Daingean on Sunday at 12noon
Well done to Ballybryan Cumann Na mBum Scol national school football team who brought great honour to the school and to the parish when they won their divisional of the Offaly cumann na mBun Scol on Wednesday in Croghan GAA grounds which a great crowd attended.  They had a great 3-15 to 2-10 win over Ballinagar school team in a game which was a thriller from start to finish.  Well done to school principal and excellent team manager who does such great work with all the young school teams of the parish and the huge success over the years.  It has been a great week for the school teams of the parish with Rhode national school winning their title last week.  Thanks is also expressed to Rhode Senior and Under 21 player Donal Hickey who is one of the coaches with Offaly in the schools.
Rhode Under 15 League side had a good 3-7 to 3-4 win over Edenderry in Rhode on Sunday morning in what was a good competitive game of football.  The game was referred by Pauric Gallagher (Ballinagar)
On Wednesday evening of last week in the Offaly Under 13 League St Broughan\’s had a 6-16 to 0-6 win over Rhode in Rhode.  This game was also referred by Pauric Gallager.
The best of luck to the Kilcormac/Killoughy senior hurlers who play Camross of Laois in the first round of the Leinster senior club championship on Sunday in Portlaoise at 2.30pm.  Best of luck to Ballinamere who play Sarsfields in the junior club championship on Sunday in Ballinamere also at 2.30pm.  Also to Birr junior footballers who play St. Paul\’s of Westmeath in The Downs on Sunday also at 2.30pm.

Get well wishes is extended to all the people of the parish who are sick or hospitalised at the moment especially to great Rhode and Offaly supporter Paddy Hope who was during the week.  He is wished a speedy recovery.
Birthday greetings is extended to Rhode player Tom Dowling who celebrated his 21st birthday last weekend.
There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto for the week ending 20th of October for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 8 10 11 21.  The club like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeen\’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each
