Presentation Night

The Rhode GAA presentation night will take place in the Bridge House Tullamore on March 21st.  A great night is promised at the club celebrates winning the club’s 26th championship success at senior level.  There will be more details next week.

Membership of the Club is now due and can be paid to any of the committee members.  Fee’s are the same as last year which are as follows

Players and Insurances €50

Family €50

Adult €25

O.A.P €5

Membership can be paid to Patricia McManus, Mary Hannon, Ger Hynes, Fionnuala Hickey, Seamus Maguire, Jody Kilmurray, James Murphy, John Glennon, Tracey Murphy.  Membership remains open until 31st of March.

 

 

Thanks is expressed to all those who purchased the Offaly GAA Lotto and by doing so cancelling out the O’Connor Park club levy of €3,500 which is a huge boost for the club.  Again thanks is expressed to all the promoters and to everyone who purchased tickets for the National GAA Draw.  The draw takes place on the 27th of February in Croke Park.

 

 

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto for the week ending 26th of January for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 8 10 12 14   The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €35 each

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

 

Offaly Senior footballers got their league campaign of to a good start when on Sunday they had a 0-9 to 1-2 win over London in London.  There was a number of Rhode players on the panel Pauric Sullivan started while Niall Darby came on.  There was also a number of supporters who travelled over to the game from Rhode and Croghan and indeed from all over the county which was great to see.  Offaly now play Waterford in the second round of the Allianz Football League on Sunday in O’Connor Park at 2pm.

 

Offaly Senior hurlers play Loais in the first round of the Allianz Division 1 B hurling league on Saturday in O’Moore Park at 2pm.

 

All at the club sends congratulations to great Rhode and Offaly supporter Willie Quinn who celebrated his 50th birthday with a party in Doyle’s on Saturday night.  The club also welcomes home his brother Dermot and his daughter Aoife who were present at the party.

 

Get well wishes is extended to all the people of the parish who are ill or hospitalised at the moment especially to former Rhode and Offaly player Mickey Gunning.  All at Rhode GAA Club sends best wishes to Mickey who has been hospitalised for the last few weeks.

 

Sympathy is extended to the Kelly family of Coole Croghan on the death of Tommy were remains were interred to Croghan cemetery on Tuesday of last week.
