Minors Put In Strong League Campaign

Rhode Minor footballers were beaten by Ferbane/Belmont in the semi-final of the Division 1 League on Monday evening last in Geashill. Rhode led by a point at the interval 0-6 to 0-7 Ferbane/Belmont finished very strong however and won by six points. It was a very good performance by Rhode and Rhode’s goal came from Patrick Quinn who scored 1-2 form full forward. It was a good league campaign for the Rhode lads and it is hoped that the form can be repeated in the forthcoming championship.       Offaly Senior footballers bowed out of this year’s All-Ireland championship when they were narrowly defeated by Kildare in O’Connor Park on Saturday on a score line of 1-15 to 1-13.
