U’13 Division 2 League Semi-Final
Rhode U13s welcomed Edenderry to Fr. Dowling Park last Saturday afternoon in the semi-final of the Offaly County League. With perfect weather conditions, both teams played excellent football to the entertainment of the supporters attending. It was a very close game right up to half time with the scoreline showing 2-2 to 1-2 to the home team. Rhode came out very strong in the second half scoring straight from the throw in and continued to dominate the remainder of the game, finishing on a scoreline of 5-11 to 3-2. The club would like to wish our own Richie Glennon a speedy recovery after sustaining an injury during the game. Thank you to Michael and the Edenderry team for a sporting game of football and it was great to see both teams intermingle afterwards. A note of thanks also goes out to Martin Carty who refereed the game very fairly at all times.

Rhode Junior A footballer’s had a massive win over Birr on Wednesday night last on a score-line of 6-14 to 0-04.

Rhode Senior footballer’s will play Edenderry, Shamrock’s, Tullamore and Ferbane in the group stage’s of the championship which is due to kick off on Sunday July 21st. The first 2 rounds are Home and Away. Rhode will play one game at Home in Fr,Dowling Park. One Game Away. 3rd Game in O’Connor Park and final group game at a neutral venue:

Offaly GAA Cul Camps
The annual Rhode GAA Cul Camp will commence in Fr Dowling Park on Monday 15th July to Friday 19th July. The camp will start each day at 10am and ends at 2.30pm. It is a wonderful experience for the 6 to 12 year old boys and girls to play games meet new friends and to practice the skills of our native games. There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 27th of May for a Jackpot of €2,600. The numbers drawn were 1 3 14 29. The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.
