Rhode Under 14\’s recorded their second win in a row with a 6-6 to 5-7 victory over Ballinamere/Durrow in Rhode on Friday night.
This was an exciting encounter and the football played was a credit to both teams.
Rhode fought back from 7 points down early in the second half to lead by 7 points with 10 minutes remaining.
Ballinamere/Durrow came back strong and levelled the game with a couple of minutes left to play and it looked like a draw was going to be the outcome.
The Rhode lads however had other ideas and found the net for the 6th time with a flowing move that started in the full back line.
Ballinamere/Durrow had time to kick another point but it wasn\’t enough and Rhode held on for a deserved victory.
This was a very gutsy performance and the lads showed great heart and team spirit.
