County Champions #29
Massive Congratulations to Rhode Senior Footballers and management team who were crown Offaly Senior football champions to make it an historic 3 in a row for the third time in the clubs history and also furthering our lead in the roll of honour by 2 to number 29. In a time when many would have liked to see us gone from the top and always try to write us off well do that at your pearl as every player and sub stood up and was counted for as we blasted home a wonderful victory by 11 points. From start to finish Rhode stood up and were counted for and apart from Ferbane scoring the first score of the game Rhode led from then on. It was a day full of history for this great club as it not far off twenty years to the day we ended the 23 year famine in 1998 that got the ball rolling to where we are today. The Final whistle went we were champions on a score-line of 1-18 to 0-10 and to massive cheers Joint captains Brian Darby and Eoin Rigney raised the Dowling cup to the skies.
Alan Super McNamee Collected his 11th County Championship and know one deserves it more than him. Brian Darby Shane Sullivan, Ciaran Heavey, Niall Mcnamee Pauric Sullivan collected their tenth.

A big thank you to Killeigh GAA for the use of their facilities over the past number of months. It was very much appreciated by the team management and players.
It was wonderful to see our U7 & U9 play a pivotal part in Sundays county final with them welcoming the teams onto the pitch and marching with the team in the parade.

Hard Luck
Hard luck to Pat Dingle Daly and O\’dempseys GAA club in Laois who were defeated by Portlaoise in the Laois County final. . It was 35 years since O\’dempsey\’s were in a county final up until Sunday.

Lotto
There was one winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 8th of October for a Jackpot of €20,000. The lucky winner was Pauric Murphy. The club would like to congratulate Pauric on his wonderful win. The numbers drawn were 7 13 19 26. New Jackpot €2,600. The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to O’Toole’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation. The following matched three numbers and received €50 each.
