The very best of luck to our Senior footballers and management team who take on Tullamore in the County Final Replay  in Bord Na Mona O\’Connor Park Tullamore this coming Sunday November 31st at 2pm. It will be a real battle again this Sunday. Let\’s get behind our lads  !!!!
Calling all our great Supporters to cover the Parish with colour whether it be bunting or flags. It has been a truly hard year and a half. We need a massive lift so lets get behind our Boys for Sunday and please god the Dowling Cup will be back in Rhode Sunday night.  All Club  and County Grounds  can now hold 100%l capacity crowds due to easing of Government and GAA restrictions 
If you access the Offaly GAA website and find your selected Championship game, you will see the option to purchase the following:

Adult Ticket – €10

Senior Citizen Ticket – €5 

Student Ticket  – €5Juvenile (U16) Ticket –  Free

(Please note that students must show valid student ID upon entry to the game in addition to having their ticket)

Rhode GAA Club AGM
The 133rd AGM of Rhode GAA Club will take place Wednesday November 24th in Rhode GAA Hall at 8pm Sharp. Please Note that members would have received their notifications. Follow the procedures outlined.The AGM is an important part of the Clubs calendar where all aspects of the clubs 2021 activities will be up for discussion.

Rhode  GAA Supporters 200 Club Draw 

We are  continuing with our Rhode GAA Supporters Draw to Aid our Planned Development for our Grounds.A massive thank you for your previous support of our club draws and we hope you can continue that wonderful support in 2021.  This is a large project and will be a benefit to Rhode GAA/LGFA Clubs and also the community . Our success on the field is not reflected in our grounds. We need to work together to achieve our goals. Also, our Underage teams are going well and they deserve the opportunity to have great facilities to progress in their development. This cannot be achieved without the support of our Community      

The  draw will provide you with the chance to win 1st prize €1000 & 5 chances to win €250 in each draw and there are 5 draws taking place throughout the year. 3rd Draw was held on October 16th  Next Draws will be as follows   • 20th November • 18th December

U20 Football Semi Final
St.Michaels footballers unfortunately lost out to Na Fianna in the Offaly U20 Football Semi Final on a score-line of 1-08 to 0-07. The team is a very talented bunch of players from our Parish and no doubt will be back again next year pushing further ahead. A massive thank you to the management team of Gordon Kerrigan ,Johnathan Geraghty  & Mattie Moore  for your great work with the team.

Super 7\’s 
The Rhode U13s boys team travelled to Tullamore on Saturday morning for the return leg and final day of the Offaly Super 7\’s Tournament. With 5 teams in their group, Rhode were positioned in second place from the first round having lost only one match to the unbeaten Na Fianna.This Saturday Rhode and Na Fianna won both of their respective opening two matches which meant that all eyes were on their head to head in the third game of the day. Rhode attacked from the off and held the lead winning by 3-3 to 2-1. With both teams winning their final matches, and finishing on the same points, it came down to Rhodes\’ very strong for and against differential that saw them victors on the day.Carina Carroll, Offaly Coiste na nÓg Chairperson, presented the team with a lovely set of Offaly jerseys, and Rhode would like to thank Carina and the board for providing so many clubs the opportunity to participate in an excellent tournament. We would also like to thank Tullamore as host club for organising and setting out so many fields on the day.This has proved to be an excellent year for our U13\’s teams, bringing home the deferred 2020 A Shield, the 2021 B Cup and now the 1st ever Division 2 2021 Super 7\’s titles.

U8/9s Winter Training Kicks off 

Our U\’8s/9s braved the elements on Saturday morning  last to kick start our winter training programme.  Our Winter league will start next week and new players are very welcome.  It should be a fun couple of weeks ahead  !! 

U7 footballers Our under 7’s played Tullamore on Saturday morning in the last of the go games for 2021. Both teams gave a great display of their footballing skills.

Christmas Food Appeal 
Following on from the  overwhelming support by the people of the Parish it has been decided  we will hol it again 2021.  It will take place on Saturday December 4th  in the grounds of Rhode Hall in line with Covid-19 restrictions from 11am to 1pm  to help facilitate Ken Smollen and his group of great workers who support those in need in our community. 
Items needed for each food pack are as follows 
2 boxes of breakfast cereal, tea, sugar, 3 tins of beans, 2 tins of spaghetti hoops, 2 tins of dessert rice, 3 packets of soup, 2 packets of pasta, jar of pasta sauce, packet of boil-in-the-bag-rice, 3 packets of biscuits and a packet of cream crackers and other items when available including tinned fish/peas/carrots, jam, chocolate and other treats for children.

Rhode GAA Walking Track 

Our walking track  remains open for our members to exercise safely .

 Members are asked to obey signage and maintain Covid-19 social distancing measures.We Ask that Those using our facilities respect the grounds by either bringing home your rubbish or use the many bins that surround the walking track .

Lotto 
The Rhode GAA Lotto Jackpot was €11,400 and it took place on the 1st of November while adhering to the guidelines..

The numbers drawn out were 7 9 20 29
