Rhode St.Patrick\’s Day Parade Plans At Advanced Stage

St,Patrick\’s Day Parade

Following an Historic First for the Rhode Parish last year we are delighted to announce that plans are at an advanced  stage for Rhode\’s Second St,Patrick\’s Day Parade with it many groups / organisations taking part. Everyone in the Parish and beyond are encouraged to get involved by walking in the parade, dressing up or entering a float. \”Colour and Craic \” is the Theme of the Parade.

All Households along the Parade route (Fr.Dowling Park to Killeen\’s Car Park)  are kindly asked to decorate their houses/road with brightly coloured bunting and flags.

Grand Marshal for this year\’s Parade is the Legendary Paddy McCormack \”The Iron Man from Rhode \” .

We are informed that Rte will be joining us on the day to film our Parade for National viewing for the Rte News programme.

Parade gets underway 10am Sharp so join us on the 17th of March in the little village for a morning of celebration and fun. followed by refreshments and music.

Offaly GAA Easter Camp

Offaly GAA  coaching and games are hosting a  2 day Easter camp for primary school boys and girls from ages 6-10 in Rhode GAA field Fr. Dowling Park on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th of April 10am to 2pm .

It a chance for the kids to further their footballing skills with the top Offaly coaches over their holiday term. Full cost for the two days in €20-00 and the children are required to bring a packed Lunch,drink, towel and change of gear

Lotto

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 26th of February for a Jackpot of €15,000.  The numbers drawn were 2 19 25 26.  The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Doyle’s for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation.  The following matched three numbers and received €50 each.

The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online through our website.  The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example, pay for seven draws, receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on.  In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to!!

 

Sympathy

Deepest Sympathy is extended to The family  of Brendan O\’Rourke  Newtown. Brendan\’s funeral mass took place at St,Peter\’s  church Rhode on Monday last followed by burial to the adjoining cemetery,

Sympathy is also extended to Dolores Moore Ballyburley, Terri Flood Colcor and Pauline Noble St,Patrick\’s avenue on the passing of their Father Jimmy Noble Dublin. Jimmy\’s Funeral mass took place on Tuesday morning last in Drimnagh followed by burial in Palmerstown.

May Brendan & Jimmy Rest In Peace.
