Sympathy is extended to the Cully family of Leitrim Rhode on the death of Patricia after a short illness. The deceased was a quite lady and a lovely person who was a pleasure to meet and she had a kind word for everyone and also she was very well respected by all in the parish and she will be sadly missed by all especially by her family. Patricia was laid to rest in Rhode cemetery on Thursday. May she rest in peace.
The whole parish of Rhode and indeed many neighbouring parishes were deeply shocked when the news came through on the death of Joe Malone early on Tuesday morning last. The late Joe was one of the most respected people in the parish who was a great family man to his wife Mary and family. A tremendous worker who farmed extensively and was an agriculture contractor who gave great advice to the people in the area. He was also a follower of the GAA St. Brigid’s, Rhode and all Offaly teams in hurling and football. We all have lost a true and loyal friend and deepest sympathy is extended from the Rhode GAA Club to Mary and her family who are one of the respected family’s who are deeply involved in all aspects of life in the Rhode parish area. Joe was laid to rest in Rhode cemetery on Thursday. May he rest in peace.
